Winners Inc. Contributes L$5M to National County Sports Meet

Winners Incorporated, a premier betting company in Liberia, has made a generous contribution of five million Liberian dollars (LRD 5,000,000) to the National County Sports Meet (NCSM). The funds are for champion and individual awards.

The company has allocated L$4,800,000 for the champions and individuals' awards and an additional two hundred thousand Liberian dollars (L$200,000) as operational costs for the tournament to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS).

This donation reflects the company's ongoing commitment to supporting sports development in Liberia, following a previous contribution of L$2,000,000 during the last edition of the NCSM. The company, in a statement over the weekend, has pledged to award significant prizes to the champions and standout players in the football category of this year's County sports meet.

The company promised to award the Most Valuable Players in the tournament with L$250,000, the highest scorer with L$200,000, and the Fair Play Team will be given L$100,000, the Best Defender will receive L$100,000, the Best Goalkeeper L$100,000 while the Best Coach set to pocket L$100,000.

In addition, the company noted that kickball champions would be congratulated with L$300,000, runners-up earning L$100,000 and third-place would walk away with L$50,000. 

Yacob Batshon, Winners Inc. President expressed his company's dedication to collaborating with President Boakai's administration to advance sports initiatives in Liberia and foster national pride through active participation and talent development.

Said Batshon, “Together, we can work towards fostering a culture of unity, sportsmanship, and national pride through initiatives that promote active participation and talent development across all levels in our society". 

He emphasized, “Winners Inc. has been a great partner in sports in Liberia and intends to do much in that regard during the coming years.”

Deputy Minister of Sports, G. Andy Quamie, expressed gratitude to Winners Inc. for their substantial contributions, highlighting the positive impact of their support on the NCSM. He encouraged other companies to follow Winners Inc.'s lead in supporting sporting events across the country.
