Mary Broh Recommended to Replace Snowe

Most Liberians, especially males in a recent poll have recommended Madam Mary Taryonnoh Broh, dubbed as General Broh and Hurricane Broh, to be appointed as chairperson of the Lone Star Mobilization Campaign.

Montserrado County District # 6 Representative Edwin M. Snowe has been the chairman of the Lone Star Mobilization Committee since 2012.

PUL, SWAL Open Book of Condolence for Williams

The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) in collaboration with the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL) will jointly open Book of Condolence for fallen Liberian journalist, Numennie Williams.

A release from both institutions say the Book of Condolence will be opened on Wednesday, April 6, today, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the headquarters of the PUL on Clay Street in Monrovia.

Ex-SWAL Boss Funeral Friday

The funeral rite of former President of the Sports Writers

Association of Liberia (SWAL), Nummenie P. Williams, is set on Thursday, April 7, at the Lady of Lebanon Parish, on Capitol Hill, Monrovia.

He was 44 years old.

According to a family source, the former sports journalist and member of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) will be taken from the Samuel Stryker Funeral Home at 8:30am to the Lady of Lebanon Parish at 11:00am.

The playing pitch is situated on J. W. Pearson’s Campus

Ganta DEO Wants Sport Stadium Relocated

Bain-Garr District Education Officer (DEO) J. Lynon Martor has called on the county authorities to relocate the Ganta Sport Stadium. The stadium is located in his district.

The stadium is situated in John Wesley Pearson High School.

In an interview with the Daily Observer in Ganta recently he said the stadium would distract the students from learning, especially when they are in class while players are also on the playing pitch causing uncontrollable noise.

PNW Calls Reconciliation Conference for SWAL Members

The publisher and managing editor of The INQUIRER newspaper, Atty. Philip N. Wesseh – PNW – has scheduled a mediatory conference to settle the disagreement between some members of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL) calling themselves ‘Majority Bloc’ and the leadership of the association.

Mr. Wesseh noted in a press release yesterday that the meeting will be held Saturday, April 2, at the headquarters of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) on Clay Street at 11:30 a.m.
