LFA Terminates Services of 5 Sub- Committee Heads

The Liberia Football Association has terminated the services of five of its Sub-Committees’ chairmen with immediate effect for administrative reasons.

In separate letters to the five individuals, Acting Secretary General Emmanuel Deah said he has been mandated by the LFA Executive Committee to inform the different heads of the five Sub-Committees that they have been relieved of their various portfolios.

Ex-SWAL Executives Call for Peace and Unity in Wake of Williams’ Death

The former President and Vice President of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL), Hilary Colnoe and Harotia Willie in tearful tones have urged members of the association to seek peace and unity amid the death of the association’s former president, Numenie P. Williams.

The ex-SWAL officials made the remark yesterday in a formal program marking the opening for the Book of Condolence of Numennie Williams, which brought together over 70 journalists and sports administrators.

Mary Broh Recommended to Replace Snowe

Most Liberians, especially males in a recent poll have recommended Madam Mary Taryonnoh Broh, dubbed as General Broh and Hurricane Broh, to be appointed as chairperson of the Lone Star Mobilization Campaign.

Montserrado County District # 6 Representative Edwin M. Snowe has been the chairman of the Lone Star Mobilization Committee since 2012.

PUL, SWAL Open Book of Condolence for Williams

The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) in collaboration with the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL) will jointly open Book of Condolence for fallen Liberian journalist, Numennie Williams.

A release from both institutions say the Book of Condolence will be opened on Wednesday, April 6, today, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the headquarters of the PUL on Clay Street in Monrovia.

Ex-SWAL Boss Funeral Friday

The funeral rite of former President of the Sports Writers

Association of Liberia (SWAL), Nummenie P. Williams, is set on Thursday, April 7, at the Lady of Lebanon Parish, on Capitol Hill, Monrovia.

He was 44 years old.

According to a family source, the former sports journalist and member of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) will be taken from the Samuel Stryker Funeral Home at 8:30am to the Lady of Lebanon Parish at 11:00am.
