LINU Gets New Political Leader

Liberia National Union (LINU), a political establishment certified by Liberia's electoral body has named Nathaniel T. Blama, Sr. as its political leader.

According to a letter addressed to the National Elections Commission (NEC) which regulates political parties and conducts public elections across the country, Blama assumed the post through a resolution adopted and signed by "over 25 LINU executive committee members" including the chairman and secretary general.

Sen. Lawrence Still Against Dahn’s Confirmation

Grand Bassa County Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence who last Thursday vehemently resisted plenary action to confirm the embattled Health Minister-designate, Dr. Bernice Dahn, has said she maintains her stance.
By that action, she is gradually moving towards earning the name ‘iron lady’ of the Senate.

Young Entrepreneur to Contest 2017 Tappita Rep. Seat

A Liberian entrepreneur in Tappita, Lower Nimba County, has said he has adequately prepared himself to contest the 2017 representative seat for the County Electoral District #9 currently being occupied by Rep. Ricks Toweh.

Rep. Toweh was elected to the post during the general and presidential elections in 2011 on the ticket of the National Union for Democratic Progress (NUDP).

Executive Governor of the Central Bank of Liberia, Dr. J. Mills Jones

‘This Nonsense Must Stop’

The Executive Governor of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), Dr. J. Mills Jones, has reacted strongly to his detractors, admonishing them to stop the baseless argument against his financial empowerment of ordinary citizens in the country.

Governor Jones made the statement last Saturday at a program marking the official opening of the second Nimba Rural Community Finance Institution in Sanniquelle.

Demand Land Peacefully

Hundreds of squatters in the area known as LPRC Fence in Gardnersville outside Monrovia were told last Saturday morning to peacefully demand from the Liberian government the land on which they have invested thousands of US dollars as their new home.
