UBA Liberia Observes Africa Day Today

In demonstration of its avowed Africaness, as enshrined in its business strategy, pan African banking group, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Liberia Limited branches will on today, May 25, join the rest of the continent in celebrating Africa Day.
The African Union Day is the annual commemoration of the 1963 founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), presently recognized as the Africa Union (AU).

Quarterly Seminar for Financial Professionals Begins Soon

Two highly experienced groups of US Certified Public Accountants (CPA) have teamed up to deliver, early next month, an intensive 4-day seminar on Financial Accounting & Reporting (GAAP VS. IFRS); Automated Accounting Systems; and How to become a US Certified Public Accountant.  The purpose of this seminar is to assist in building the capacity of Liberian financial professionals by transferring knowledge in the above areas, with emphasis on Financial Accounting & Reporting (GAAP vs. IFRS), and Automated Accounting Systems.

Liberians Urged to Support Local Businesses

The Secretary General of the Liberian Business Association (LIBA), Ms. Leila Kpukuyoi, has challenged Liberians to support local businesses in the country.

Ms. Kpukuyoi said that it is about time Liberians support each other’s businesses to foster growth and development to build a vibrant economy.

The LIBA Secretary General made the statement at a program marking the official launch of Josiah Joekai, Jr’s latest book, ‘Emergence of Democratic Governance in Liberia: Challenges and Prospects’, held over the weekend.

NPA Ends Off Site Management Retreat in Buchanan

A three-day high level “off site management retreat” with specific emphasis on fostering the agenda of the National Port Authority (NPA) has ended in the Port City of Buchanan with a call for management to implement several other projects.

The projects earmark by the NPA includes the repairing of major feeder roads, maintenance of dredging the port and to finalize the ongoing negotiation with investors in the port.
