The late David L. M. Bropleh

Bropleh’s Remains Arrive Home

The mortal remains of David L. M. Bropleh, ex-president of the St. Joseph’s Warriors Sports Association, have arrived in Monrovia.

His body has been deposited at the Samuel Stryker Funeral Home, a family source told the Daily Observer Sunday.

Mr. Bropleh, known as Diego, died on October 18 at the Abor Hospital, in the Volta Region of Ghana.

Memorial Service for Mandela at Centennial Pavilion Tuesday

The South African Embassy near Monrovia has released the official state memorial protocol for fallen African and world icon and hero, former South African President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

Mr. Mandela, the founding President of South Africans’ inclusive democratic nation, departed the world at around 20:50 GMT on the 5th of December. He was 95.


African leaders Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia; Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma of the AU; former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan; Archbishop Desmond Tutu; and US President Barack Obama all paid tribute to the fallen African hero.

Theo Bettie’s Remains Arrive

The casket bearing the mortal remains of the late Theophilus Totee Bettie, Deputy Governor for Economic Policy at the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), arrived in the country from Lagos, Nigeria, late last night on a special, chattered flight.

Mr. Bettie died at the Saint Nicholas Hospital, in Lagos, Nigeria  on Friday, November 8, after he had reportedly collapsed in his hotel room.
