Rep. Nuquaye Launches L$100,000 Market Project

News Section:

MARGIBI – The Representative of Margibi County’s First District, Emmanuel James Nuquaye, climaxed a weeklong peace and development tournament in the township of Lakayta Tuesday with the launching of a L$100,000 market renovation project in the district.

He told the gathering at the launching that although the cost of renovation was higher than he had expected, he was committed to meeting his people’s development demands.

Nuquaye told his audience that in the past, leaders had failed their people.

“Because of that people saw no need to exercise their civil and political rights in the county during the 2005 elections,” he added.

Since 2006, the District has benefited from ‘grass roots support’ in the form of micro loans, scholarships, education and health, among other initiatives.

Nuquaye named Cinta (L$206,000) Gibi (L$100,000), Borlorla (L$100,000) and Lakayta (L$100,000) as being some of the townships benefiting from micro loans.

He cautioned the citizens to be wary of bad politicians who, he said, enjoy planting seeds of division among them.
