Published:  27 June, 2008

Hikes in oil and food prices are driving many economies in floating position. Inflation rates are alarming. Governments are finding difficult times dealing with the problem. In Liberia, for example, inflation rate was 11% at the end of 2007 according to Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) annual report but skyrocketing fuel and food prices are said to be major underlining factors that could inflationary rate further higher. Exchange rate remains stable though but at L$61 for US$1.
