Edward Slangar could be in trouble with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) if an earlier confession he provided a Monrovia newspaper in November 1985, immediately following the abortive invasion, about the killing of Gen. Thomas Quiwonkpa is true. In a two-part article, the Daily Observer now brings to readers the November 18, 1985 story culled from the Daily Star newspaper in which Slangar confessed to personally killing Quiwonkpa. In the second part, an Observer story published on October 15, 2008, on Slangar's testimony at the TRC, he told of physically playing no part in Quiwonkpa's death.
