Cocoa Buyers Hail Nimba Administration for Good Feeder Roads

Cocoa buyers in Karnplay, Gbehlay Geh Statutory District have praised the County Administration for opening feeder roads in the county, especially around the Ivory Coast –Liberia border.

Speaking to the Daily Observer recently, the business manager of Yealue Brothers Produce Buying Agency, Rafael Saideh, said the opening of feeder roads around the cocoa belt is enhancing their movements to reach cocoa farmers.

He said the price of cocoa in Liberia is very impressive and encouraging and opening these roads has given a boost to cocoa farming in the area.

BRAC-Liberia Boosts Poultry Industry

The country representative of BRAC Liberia, Mohammed Abdus Salam, has said the poultry industry continues to grow in the country and he is optimistic that it will play a key role in boosting the country’s economy in the future.

A BRAC Liberia release said that more farmers are joining the industry. “The poultry industry is growing smoothly because of new technology, the use of locally available feed, breeding, hatching and other inputs and this sector is flourishing to benefit the country,” Mr. Salam said.

Starbow Airline Begins Flight in Liberia

Right after declaring Liberia Ebola free by the World Health organization (WHO), a Ghana-based commercial airline, Starbow has announced to begin a major flight at the James Springs Payne Airport in Sinkor, Monrovia.

The pronouncement by the airline was made recently at the James Spriggs Payne Airport during a test run exercise.

The test run coincided with the official declaration of Liberia as an Ebola free nation, which is a major step toward the country’s economic recovery drive.
