JFK Gets “New Pain-killer” Machine

The Gradian Health Systems has donated an anesthesia machine to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Medical Center to equip the institution during testing and surgical operations.
Anesthesia refers to the practice of administering medications either by injection or by inhalation (breathing in) that block the feeling of pain and other sensations, or that produces a deep state of unconsciousness and eliminates all sensations. This allows medical and surgical procedures to be done without causing undue distress or discomfort.

Liberia’s Ebola Fight Receives US$52M Grant from WB

The World Bank Group (WBG) has approved US$52 million for Liberia, the highest among the three West African Countries hardly affected by the Ebola virus disease (EVD).

According to a statement issued Tuesday, September 16, in Washington DC, the United States of America, the Bank approved a grant of US$105 million for the three countries, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

US-Liberia Relations Still Solid

The relationship between the United States of America and Liberia---it has been speculated---is on the decline. Foreign Minister, Augustine K. Ngafuan, has clarified, however, that relations between the countries remains solid.

Minister Ngafuan recently shot down the rumor when he addressed a US delegation and officials of government at the Foreign Ministry.

Air Côte d’Ivoire now has four flights to Monrovia weekly.

Air Cote d’Ivoire Adds Liberia to 19-Nation Route

Regular travelers between Liberia and la Cote d’Ivoire may be sighing with great relief at the new and only alternative to braving the intense, unpaved terrain between the two countries as they have for nearly a decade, since Air Cote d’Ivoire added Liberia to its 19-nation continental route.
