Open Letter To NOCAL’s Chairman and CEO

Randolph & Seward,
I want first of all to commend you on the very creative manner in which you have approached the vexing question of how to enable Liberians to participate meaningfully in the current bid round for the 4 remaining offshore oil blocks: LB-06, LB-07, LB-16 & LB-17, both as regards local content of services to be provided and direct equity participation by Liberian citizens alongside international oil companies (IOCs) in our fledgling oil industry.

Eurofarmacos Group Responds to Dr. Sumo, LMHRA

Re: Article entitled “‘Liberians Won’t Be Used as Guinea Pigs’ For Ebola Trial Drugs not Approved”

Dear Editor,

We refer to the article quoting the LMHRA Managing Director, Pharmacist David Sumo and his organizations’ stance on pre-clinical trials for the treatment of Ebola.

As a highly qualified pharmacist, he is absolutely right to bring to attention the fact that pharmaceuticals need rigorous testing before introduction into any population.

Ebola "Fight Requires A Commitment From Every Nation That Has The Capacity To Help"

Dear World,

In just over six months, Ebola has managed to bring my country to a standstill. We have lost over 2,000 Liberians. Some are children struck down in the prime of their youth. Some were fathers, mothers, brothers or best friends. Many were brave health workers that risked their lives to save others, or simply offer victims comfort in their final moments.

Ebola Is a Virulent Killer

Mr. Editor,

The Americans have projected that with the exponential and rapid increase in Ebola fatalities in West Africa particularly in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea could reach 1.5 million deaths by January 2015 if adequate and sustained international interventions and support to contain and eradicate the virus are wanting.
