Team Liberia continued their fantastic form with a 7-1 win over Team Egypt as they look to progress to the next round of the Street Child World Cup in Brazil in their second game Tuesday.

Team Liberia Overwhelms South Africa 5-0

Team Liberia enjoyed an emphatic victory over Team South Africa 5-0 to gain their first points of the group stage at the Street Child World Cup in Brazil last Tuesday.

Daniel Nimleh Bowdior was the stand out performer throughout the match as his hat-trick set Liberia on their way to success over their fellow Africans.

Foday Marah and Elijah Saysaw also added to the score line with fine efforts to cap a tremendous performance by the whole squad.

2014 B’ball League Begins Today

The national first and second division basketball leagues begin today at the Sports Commission on Broad Street, amidst the threat of rain.

Virtually youthful outfit Kardinals, (3rd division champions) will rub shoulders with Deviers in the opening game at 5:p.m. while the triple champs LPRC Oilers will meet the tough 2nd division champions, Barnersville Celtic, at 6:30pm.

On Thursday, April 3, Uhuru Prince will face Du-Runners at 5:p.m. and C-Base will lock horns with S. Brothers.

Street Child Team Liberia Loses SCWC Match against Indonesia

 Team Liberia put in a strong performance and was praised for the team’s industrious display despite as the 4-1 defeat to Indonesia in their first game at the Street Child World Cup (SCWC) in Brazil.

The West African side had the better of the first half but failed to take their chances and went in to the break level at 1-1 after a fantastic strike by Daniel Nimleh Bowdior.

Inter Gov’t Tournament Underway

Ninety six teams from 32 governmental ministries, agencies, public corporations as well as from other branches of government kicked off the Intra-Governmental Tournament (IGT) Thursday at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.

The IGT which was previously called the Inter-Ministerial, Public Corporation and Agency Tournament (IMPUCAR) will begin with a parade from the ELWA Junction at about 9:00am and climaxed with a formal opening program by Youth and Sports Minister Lenn Eugene Nagbe.
