‘Liberia is Grateful to Nation’s Genuine Investors’

Vice President Joseph N. Boakai, has assured the nation’s genuine investors that Liberians are very grateful for their socio-economic contributions to the development, growth and progress of the country.

VP Boakai made the assertion Friday at the launch of the Liberia Coca-Cola Bottling Company’s (LCCBC) Cultural Leadership Campaign held at the Monrovia City Hall in Sinkor.

Vice President Boakai described Coca-Cola/LCCBC as a true partner in progress that has made significant contributions to the overall development and progress of the country.

GOL Urged to Revive Tourism

The government has been urged to revitalize the country’s tourism industry to play its important role in economic revival.

“Tourism should be revitalized to generate the needed funds for the growth of the economy,” businessman Folebole F. Kromah said.

Kromah, currently visiting home from the United States, also urges the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) and government’s support partners to rehabilitate tourism sites across the country.

He, however, regretted dilapidated conditions of Lake Tileh in Sanniquellie City, Nimba County.

Ganta Business Takes Different Trend

 Despite the deadly Ebola virus disease causing the breakdown of many business activities across the commercial city of Ganta, Nimba County, young business entrepreneurs are strategizing to keep ahead.

  The City of Ganta celebrated the recent Valentine’s Day with the opening of a modern car wash located near the center of the city.

  It is the first of its kind in Ganta and includes a restaurant, bar and a mini shop with DSTV facilities to entertain customers.

WBG Pushes to Revive Agriculture

In an effort to revive agriculture and avert hunger in Ebola-hit countries, the World Bank Group has mobilized up to US$15 million in emergency financing to provide a record of 10,500 tons of maize and rice seed to over 200,000 farmers in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

The items will be distributed to the countries in time for the April planting season.

Aureus, Aminata Sign US$90m Deal

Aureus Mining Company and Aminata and Sons, have entered into a US$90m (Ninety Million) contract for the supply of petroleum products to Aureus Mining New Liberty Gold Mining Project in Grand Cape Mount County.  The contract will run for the lifespan of the mine, which is 8 years. 

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the General Manager of Aureus Mining Company, Mr. Debar Allen, said Aminata’s petroleum service delivery meets the standard and has demonstrated the capacity to deliver more than any of its competitors in the sector.
