Martha Akorsah Elected LIMU President

Actress and writer Martha E. Arkosah was elected president of the Liberia Movie Union (LIMU) last Saturday, for the next two years.
The election took place at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) in Monrovia.

Ms. Arkosah won the election with 347 votes, and opposition candidate Aloysius Taylor, standard bearer of Reality Team got 265 votes.
The election was described as free and fair.

Iyanya’s Ebola Peace Concert Postponed

The most anticipated Ebola peace concert, which was to take place today, May 23, 2015 featuring one of Nigeria's talented performers has been postponed due to technical reasons, the organizers have said.
"Ur Waist" hit maker Iyanya was set to perform at Miami Beach, Club Gossip and Banana Lodge this weekend but, Marjean Sherman, organizer of the events, said there were issues with securing the entertainer's flight to Liberia .

Infectious Michael Cautions Liberian Artists

Famous Liberian music producer and co-owner and founder of Heartbeat Records, Infectious Michael has sounded a word of caution to Liberian artists to avoid making past blunders that could hold back recent positive strides made in the entertainment industry.

“Every artist needs to exhibit more creativity and coherence in order to ensure that the entertainment industry remains united,” he said.

Musician Union of Liberia to Honor Anti-Ebola Song

In an effort to recognize the meaningful and worthy contribution made by Liberian artists during the fight against the Ebola Virus, the president of Musicians Union of Liberia, Cecil Griffiths, has said that the union will honor some of its members for their role played in the fight against Ebola. 

He added that during the height of the Ebola crisis, anti-Ebola songs by Liberian musicians were instrumental in raising awareness. The artists who did these songs were for the most part self-supported and only a few were ever sponsored.

Liberia Movie Union to Host Election Saturday

The Election Commission Chair of the Liberia Movie Union (LIMU), Varfee Y. L. Holmes, has promised free, fair and transparent election, slated for Saturday at the Ministry Of Information Culture and Tourism (MICAT).

 The Election Commission, according to him, is for everyone and therefore, does not have any interest in a particular candidate to win.
