LBA Neglects Trash at Sports Commission

Due to the current tussle in the leadership of the Liberia Basketball Association, a roomful of trash has been neglected by workers at the Sports Commission in Monrovia.

A visit by the Daily Observer yesterday gathered that since the leadership crisis began several months ago, sanitation worker, who was not identified has not showed up for work.

LBA Suspends 3rd Division, in Ebola Prevention Measure

The Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) has suspended its third division league, which was expected to bring together 14 teams from four counties.

The teams were expected to proceed from Bong, Margibi, Bassa and Montserrado Counties and converge in Gbarnga.

Secretary General D. Allen Goodridge said the postponement is to support measures instituted by the government through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare due to the Ebola menace.

K-Delta, Heats Win Championships

Female basketball giant, K-Delta, retained her title when she whacked Timber Wolves 60-51 points to grab her 5th championship in recent years.

The fighting Wolves began the game and dominated the first quarter, 14-8 points, but the introduction of the Guinean-duo, Bougura and Traore settled the three points, while Alfreda Siryon, Blama and Buckle got two points as well as all the free shots and rebounds.

Heats, K-Delta Flatten Scores

Division two Heats scraped Blazers 62-56 points to level the score 2-2, in their best-out-of-five encounters, at the Sports Commission on Broad Street last Wednesday.

Heats controlled the floor in the first quarter 20-11 points, but the Blazers made some amendments and led the 2nd quarter 19-12 points. After recess, Blazers sustained the floor in the third quarter 15-12 points, but Heats consolidated and repaired to blast Blazers 18-11 points to win.
