Rep. Tingba of Nimba County

Rep. Tingban ‘Committed to UP’

For all the political heavyweights that have recently ditched the ruling Unity Party to hopefully better position themselves for the 2017 elections, every so often there comes a respite suggesting that the incumbent party may be down but certainly not out.

In an uncanny pledge of allegiance, Nimba County District #9 Representative, R. Matenokay Tingban -- who left the UP after he lost the primaries in 2011 and won the same seat as an independent -- has declared his commitment to the Unity Party.

It Does Take A Whole Village To Raise Our Children

A poor father struggle and pays his 13-year-old daughter school fees, and she leaves his home every morning and ‘head to school’. However, instead of the child going to school, she follows her friends into the ghetto where they’re sexually molested by grown and evil men for a little as $40 LD or approximately $0.50 USD. Note: Even prostitutes do not want their daughters become prostitutes. This is the story of old useless and evil men abusing our children in Liberia.

We Need a Modern Transport System: Buses, Trains

The mere mention of this suggestion may surely make people scream. Where will the money come from? “Farfetched!” some will say.

And yet, even if one calls the Daily Observer “a dreamer,” is this not the answer to the motorcycle menace that has befallen our country?

How many times will these reckless and unruly people violently attack innocent people based on rumor and speculation? What has become of the investigation following the attack against the Ganta businessman?

The central concern of this fifth article of the series centered on the family and its indispensable place in all human societies is the role of the children in the life of the family. The bible says children are a precious gift to the couple. They are from God as both a responsibility and a source of joy to the family they are born into. Children do not choose which families they should be born into. Parents cooperate with God by choosing to have children.
